Intermediate Architect/Designer
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with the Project Architect for design, documentation & construction observation phases of the project
- Contribute creative and problem-solving ideas to all aspects of project design
- Play a significant role in the production of concept, schematic & detail design drawings and documents, including organizing and leading less experienced staff
- Assist the Project Architect with preparation and execution of Client presentations
- Coordinate subconsultants, authorities and contractors under the Project Architect’s supervision; maintain organised records of all resulting meetings and communications and take the initiative to conduct follow-up as necessary
- Some experience reviewing contractor shop drawings, carrying out site inspections and resolving issues with the contractor is preferred, or at minimum a willingness to develop these skills
- Be familiar with at least basic Japanese development regulations & building design codes
- Provide guidance and opportunities for less experienced staff to develop their skills
Job Requirements:
- Five or more years of relevant experience; some working experience in Japan is preferred but not essential
- Degree in Architecture
- Japanese Architecture License preferred but not essential
- Solid experience using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite & MS Office
- SketchUp/Rhinoceros 3D & MS Project skills preferred
- Japanese language skills (including reading) minimum JLPT N4 equivalent or better
Architect/Designer
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with senior staff for design & documentation phases of the project
- Contribute creative and problem-solving ideas to all aspects of project design
- Demonstrate an ability to contribute to all design stages; some experience in detail design & preparation of construction drawings is preferred
- Assist in the production of concept, schematic & detail design drawings
- Assist with preparation of Client presentations
- Manage 3D printing tasks and physical modelmaking (training provided as necessary)
Job Requirements:
- Two or more years of relevant experience; some working experience in Japan is preferred but not essential
- Degree in Architecture
- Japanese Architecture License preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite & MS Office in a professional capacity
- SketchUp or Rhinoceros 3D skills essential
- Japanese language skills (including reading) minimum JLPT N5 equivalent or better
Senior Interior Designer
Job Responsibilities:
Coorindates all project efforts in order to ensure effective execution.
- Act as main point of contact for the Client; deal with all Client enquiries promptly and professionally
- Liaise closely with the principals and coordinate project team for design, documentation & construction observation
- Coordinate Interior Design staff for design, documentation & construction observation and provide guidance and professional development opportunities for junior staff
- MCoordinate with the Project Architect for Interior Design/FF&E activities
- Prepare fee proposals for Interior Design/FF&E projects
- Familiarity with applicable Japanese building design codes necessary for compliant design of interior finishes & fixtures
- Demonstrate up-to-date technical experience in the selection of lighting, communications and other visible electrical fixtures
Job Requirements:
- Eight or more years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- Licensed Architect, preferred.
- Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp.
- Japanese language skills (including reading) minimum JLPT N2 equivalent or better
