Outline
Hokkaido Resort
Envisaged as a self-contained village with multiple precincts of different character, together with residences of various levels of affordability culminating in hillside trophy chalets, this pedestrian-oriented resort master plan includes a full range of amenities and is connected to an existing ski field by way of an all-season chair lift. Amenities include landmark restaurants and outdoor shopping promenades, an iconic classic car restaurant, an enclosed water park and Onsen lagoon, adventure parks, a wellness precinct with individual forest studios, and multiple Onsen facilities. The internal arrangement of the master plan and geometric orientation and building massing is orchestrated to respect the natural topography of the land, preserve existing forests, optimize views to nearby mountains and ski fields as well as to ensure optimal sunlight access to pedestrian promenades, town squares and event spaces.
