The line between functional art and architecture is thin at best and on occasion disappears altogether.  Stairs, in our view, are an outstanding opportunity to create a sculptural response to the imperative of vertical circulation.  Treads, stringers, balustrades, handrails together with all supporting elements as well as the void space through which they travel are treated wholistically as an exciting, integral component in our architecture that celebrates movement, light and space while setting scenes for discovery and delight by users.
